It is easy to think of Las Vegas only as the place where you visit either win or become separated from your money, and although the town is built around that, there are a lot of nice things to do for those who don't like gambling. Non-gamblers might be unwilling to admit it, but Las Vegas has a world of magnificent things to do in addition to gambling. I love to find cheap Las Vegas packages and then enjoy my choice of the numerous offerings around the town and surrounding areas.
A lot of people, when asked what a perfect holiday would contains, would mention things like resort hotels, visiting the attractions, lying out by a beautiful luxurious swimming pool, cool restaurants, shopping and entertainment, not to mention dancing and nightclubs.
Well, excluding the gambling, you just described Las Vegas. Even outdoor types can find many excellent activities with places like Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, or the Grand Canyon not too far-away. There is world-class golf, skiing, hiking, boating and fishing. And with all of the cheap Vegas packages available, you can enjoy all of those things for a lot less than other vacation places.
Personally, I love the food. With all the themed casino hotels from around the globe, and the world-class chefs, including the $1.99 shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate Casino, oh and I can not leave out the endless parade of buffets, it is a food lover's paradise. Whenever I'm in Vegas, I pick the buffets that I'm gonna indulge in as part of my Las Vegas experience. For example, if one day I wish to do some very good and really economical sport eating, I might start with the $5.95 breakfast buffet at the Palms, showing up at 10:00 or 10:30 thus I can get in on the lunch buffet as well for no extra charge. Then, when I finally get hungry later on in the evening, I will go somewhere like the Slots-A- Fun that is adjacent to Circus Circus for a large 99 cent hotdog. And even though we are not discussing gambling in this article, I've to throw in the fact that Slots-A-Fun still has $2.00 craps and $1.00 Blackjack.
Las Vegas also is well-known for the world class entertainment, but many people don't go beyond the big headliners to discover the world of affordable but top notch performers and entertainers that abound in Las Vegas. For example, there is the afternoon Mac King Comedy Show at Harrah's Casino that is guaranteed to delight the children in addition to the grown-ups, and is a cut price at 25 bucks. If you love magic by the way, Las Vegas is the town for you.
there are numerous more examples I can give of all the wonderful things Las Vegas has to offer for vacationers and locals alike besides gambling, but I will have to leave that for a different article.
